In celebration of 85 years of service and a new home base airport, Turkish Airways is launching a brand-new, high-fashion uniform for cabin crew. The new uniforms will be put into service in October after the Istanbul New Airport opens.
The design of the new uniforms belongs to Milan-based fashion designer Ettore Bilotta. The history of Istanbul is reflected in the uniforms with nods to traditional calligraphy and mosaics. Bilotta has also incorporated new interpretations of Turkish motifs, which emphasize modern lines, into foulards and ties to reflect a contrast and duality.
The new cabin, consisting of hats, gloves, dresses, bags and various accessories, is dominated by red and anthracite gray colors. Uniforms for cockpit, flying chefs and ground services will also receive a similar revamp.
