The Viceroy Hotel Group made waves in Los Cabos today with the opening of its 15th property, the Viceroy Los Cabos on May 23, 2018. The resort is located along the waterfront in the Zona Hotelera near the town of San José del Cabo.
Originally concepted by Mexico-based architect, Miguel Angel Aragonés, and formally known as Mar Adentro, the 194-room masterpiece has re-emerged as a Viceroy property after undergoing renovations and enhancements. With a dreamscape design embracing the natural beauty of water throughout every facet of the resort, the new Viceroy Los Cabos is a canvas for discovery with cinematic views and alluring experiences around every turn. Completely reconceptualized and brand new to the resort are a beachfront pool and bar, a refreshed and vibrant lobby and arrival experience, new dining venues, and a state-of-the-art fitness center curated by Los Angeles-based celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak.
Over the last several months, the property has undergone renovations and enhancements, and reopens with 194 rooms, suites and villas (and eventually 50 residences), a refreshed lobby, a new beachfront pool and bar, redesigned restaurants and a fitness center designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. The lobby interiors have been redone by Al Arquitectura de Interiores, a Mexican interior design firm, and incorporate pieces of art and furnishings inspired by local culture, but retain some of the monumental hallmarks like a massive iron entry portal and a carved wooden door.
