OD Barcelona, the fifth hotel from Balearic boutique hotel group OD Hotels, officially opened on August 15, 2017. Located in the heart of Barcelona’s L’Eixample District, the luxury hotel combines a convenient location for walking to key city sights along with contemporary luxury design, exclusive access and an emphasis on service. Throughout the 98 rooms and suites, lobby lounge, restaurant with terrace and garden, and OD Sky Bar, the design is inspired by light and space, creating a relaxing oasis within the busy city. Just over 200 yards from Passeig de Gràcia, OD Barcelona is just a few minutes’ walk from the Sagrada Família and the famous Plaça de Catalunya. Guests can also use one of the OD Barcelona Smart cars, a signature service offering at all of the company’s hotels. OD Barcelona is OD Hotels’ first property on the Spanish mainland. The collection also has hotels in Ibiza and Mallorca.

01 OD Barcelona Exterior 2 copyOD Barcelona features 98 rooms including five suites, all stocked with a selection of Spanish wines and regional snacks. The largest accommodation at the hotel is the Grand Suite, which has its own private terrace with swimming pool and panoramic city views.

The interior design is light, spacious and airy, with a neutral palate, floor to ceiling windows throughout, and high ceilings. Furnishings and lighting include pieces by international icons of 20th and 21st century design from Barcelona and Scandinavia ranging from Mies Van Der Rohe and Charles and Ray Eames to Joaquim Ruiz Millet and F.J. Barba Corsini. It’s elegantly simple and makes liberal use of natural materials – wood, leather, and fibers.

Dining and drink options vary from a restaurant space with bold-hued furnishings to a slick white lobby bar with expansive windows. The restaurant serves a selection of the famed Spanish cold cuts, hot favorites and savory bakery corner for breakfast. A la carte service, with a focus on health-conscious cross-over cuisine, is available for lunch and dinner. When not exploring the city, guests love unwinding in the lobby bar or on rooftop terrace with sun-deck and swimming pool. Great views and drinks are complemented by music from local and guest DJs. The roof terrace can also be rented for private events. The hotel’s own events, such as the after work ‘Burger Meets Gin,’ mean guests have some unique options to make the most of their stay at OD Barcelona.

There’s also a large focus on sustainability with eco-friendly training and systems. OD Barcelona received the award for the Top Sustainable Hotel Development Project in Spain at Re Think Hotel 2017.

This exciting addition to the OD Hotels collection is part of a bigger plan to expand in 2018 and 2019. The group will open OD Saint Tropez next year and, the following, its first hotel in the United States with OD Miami.

Room rates range from 130 Euros ($155) to 820 Euros ($977) per night depending on room type. Tax and breakfast are included.
