Aeroflot has taken delivery of a brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to enhance its fleet. Boeing 737-800 (VP-BSB) is named after Anatoly Koni, a prominent lawyer, judge, public figure as well as essayist and literary critic of the 2nd half of XIXth-early XXth centuries.
Aeroflot’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft are equipped with aerodynamic wing-tips known as Sharklets. The airliner has two-class composition with 20 seats in business class and 138 seats in economy class. The Business class salon is equipped with monitors for viewing media content. Boeing 737 is one of the world’s most popular single-aisle jet airliners providing high level of comfort on medium-haul routes.
Aeroflot’s fleet is one of the youngest in the world. The majority of the fleet consists of Airbus A320, Airbus A330 and Sukhoi SuperJets-100 aircraft. As of November 1, 2019 Aeroflot includes 249 passenger aircraft, the average age of the fleet was 4.9 years.
At the end of 2018, Aeroflot Group had 367 aircraft: 65 narrow-body regional aircraft (including Bombardier DHC-8 and Viking DHC-6 turboprops, SSJ100 jets, as well as one An-24 aircraft that was subleased), 244 narrow-body aircraft for medium-haul flights (Airbus А320 Family and Boeing 737-800), and 58 wide-body aircraft (Airbus А330s, Boeing 767s and Boeing 777s).
The average age of aircraft in operation is 6.3 years for Aeroflot Group and 4.2 years for Aeroflot airline (as at 31 December 2018). Aeroflot airline’s fleet is one of the youngest in the world.
