Finnair, Finland’s national carrier, has launched direct Goa-Helsinki flights. With an A330 aircraft, Finnair flights will be operated from Helsinki to Goa on Wednesdays and Sundays and from Goa to Helsinki on Mondays and Thursdays. The Goa-Helsinki direct route will be available until March 21, 2018.
Desmond Chacko, general manager for India operations, said that on an average Finland is the fifth largest contributor of foreign tourists to Goa. With 6,000 Finnish citizens visiting Goa and given the demand seen in charter operations, Finnair decided to operate scheduled flights to the state.
