Latvian airline airBaltic in cooperation with Etihad Airways begins direct flights between Riga and Abu Dhabi at the end of October 2017.
The residents of Latvia, who will be offered new opportunities for traveling to exotic destinations by airBaltic and Etihad Airways won’t be the only beneficiaries. The new route will also attract the interest of many transit passengers from the Nordic countries, as well as Estonia and Lithuania.
Convenient air travel could also contribute to the Arab world’s interest in traveling to Latvia. According to Arab journalists who have visited Latvia, the flow of tourists in Europe’s popular metropolises is already so high that it is becoming very difficult to go there. Latvia could be a good choice for many Arab tourists who want to enjoy the green nature, appreciate the rich cultural heritage and eat some delicious food.
airBaltic will offer flights from Riga to Abu Dhabi four times a week with the Bombardier CS300 aircrafts. Duration of a flight – 6 hours and 15 minutes. The price for a one-way ticket starts at € 129, including airport charges and transaction fees.
The new Bombardier CS300 has 145 seats, and provides an outstanding flight with various benefits, such as wider seats, larger windows, more space for hand luggage, improved amenities, and more. The new aircraft is also a lot more quiet – its noise level is up to four times lower, and it is the world’s most environmentally friendly commercial airplane to date.
By the end of 2019, airBaltic plans to receive all 20 ordered Bombardier CS300 aircrafts. In 2021, when the airBaltic fleet will consist entirely of Bombardier aircrafts, the airline will have one of the youngest fleets of jet aircrafts in Europe.
