Italy temporarily imposes border and passport control

Due to the G7 Countries Summit held in Italy, compulsory border and passport controls have been introduces at all Italian airports for the period from 10 to 30 May 2017. When travelling to/from Italy, please ensure you have valid travel documents on you, i.e. passports or ID cards issued by an EU member country.

It is reasonable to expect that the introduction of border and passport controls will result in queues on departures and arrivals. Therefore, we recommend that you allow more time than usually and arrive at the airport before your departure from Italy ahead of time.”
