The Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne is opening in summer 2017. Meanwhile, work on restoring and renovating the Palace conference and event hotel is already completed, allowing the first private event with 120 guests to take place on 3 March. Construction work on the other hotels and facilities is proceeding as planned.
The honour of holding the first private event in the new Bürgenstock Resort fell, in part, to Canton Lucerne’s civic society on 3 March 2017. The 120 guests seized the opportunity to explore the extensively renovated facilities and admire the views during their meal. This is because the Palace Hotel – which has been specially conceived and extended with conferences and events in mind – has been finished early. The historically important hotel, which originally dates from 1904, has been renovated from top to bottom in compliance with strict requirements imposed by heritage and monument agencies.
Demand is buoyant. Enquiries are being received on a daily basis regarding the possibility of holding conferences, congresses and events at the Palace Hotel. Executive meetings, congresses, jubilee celebrations, annual general meetings, balls and weddings – the list of enquiries extends into 2020. A number of events have already been confirmed. The end of March will see the first guests staying the night at the Palace Hotel. Until the opening of the resort in summer 2017, overnight stays at the Palace are possible only in combination with events. After that, the rooms will also be available to individual guests. Alongside single-day meetings, multi-day events involving up to three nights’ stay for over 100 attendees have also already been booked. Construction work on the other hotels and facilities is proceeding as planned.
The Bürgenstock Resort offers a wide range of rooms for congresses, conferences, forums, symposia and events. The overall floor space devoted to the conference centre is 2200 m2, equating to up to 800 attendees. The facilities include 31 meeting rooms and a spacious ballroom capable of accommodating 500 guests. In addition, the two tennis halls can double as event venues, each accommodating up to 500 persons. The rooms are all equipped with the latest in conferencing technology and, with the exception of one room, all offer imposing views
