The new daily service replaces the flight previously operated by joint venture Delta Air Lines. It’s operated by Virgin Atlantic’s newest, most fuel efficient aircraft – the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner – and will add more than 40,000 extra seats each year between the two cities.
Customers will have the opportunity to enjoy Virgin Atlantic’s innovative service, including Premium Economy’s new Wander Wall for snacks and socialising. Upper Class customers can also enjoy a chauffer limo service, the iconic onboard bar, full flat bed seats, and a uniquely British food and beverage service. Upon arriving at London Heathrow, Upper Class customers can refresh and refuel in Virgin Atlantic’s Revivals Lounge before heading to London.
“We’re really looking forward to expanding our presence on the West Coast as well as introducing the Virgin Atlantic experience to customers flying between the UK and Seattle,” Virgin Atlantic CEO Craig Kreeger said. “As the home of Boeing, it only seems right to fly our newest, most fuel efficient aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 on the London to Seattle route. With WiFi, mood lighting, onboard bar and top of the range inflight entertainment whether travelling for leisure or business, we know our customers love to fly on this high tech aircraft.
“The launch of this new service really shows the benefits that our joint venture with Delta brings – we’re able to optimise our routes ensuring we have best brand fit and aircraft to suit the destination.”
