Wizz Air today announced a new route from Vilnius. The newest WIZZ service connects the Lithuanian capital with Gothenburg, the second largest city of Sweden. The route will commence on 26 March and operate two times a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Besides Bari, Grenoble, Nice, Reykjavik and Warsaw, Gothenburg is the 6th destination Wizz Air has added to its ever-growing Lithuanian network in 2016. WIZZ now offers 30 routes to 15 countries from its three Lithuanian airports, Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga.
Wizz Air’s first Vilnius flight took off in 2011 and since then, the airline has become the leading carrier at Vilnius Airport. In the first 11 months of 2016, WIZZ carried over 1,1 million passengers on its low fare routes to and from Lithuania. Throughout the country, Wizz Air’s operations this year will support more than 800 jobs** in associated industries.
Seats on Wizz Air’s new Vilnius route are already on sale and can be booked from 14.99 EUR / 139 SEK on wizzair.com.
During the period from 14 July until 15 August 2017, when the runway of Vilnius Airport will be under construction, all Wizz Air flights including the newly launched service to Gothenburg will be operated from Kaunas Airport.
