No ski holiday would be complete without that special place to revive and rejuvenate sore muscles and get the circulation in tiptop shape for the days ahead. Six Senses has you covered!
It’s almost ski time: from the signature slopes to those uncharted ones, many of you will be soon packing your bags in search of new winter adventures. Opening this December, Six Senses Spa Courchevel will offer all local residents, chalet owners, holidaymakers and other skiing enthusiasts a welcome respite after an exhilarating day in the white stuff. Located in the very heart of Courchevel 1850, the spa is a part of Six Senses Residences Courchevel which houses 53 meticulously designed penthouses and apartments.
What’s more, the spa features a revitalizing bathing circuit designed with the skier’s needs in mind and will welcome a variety of renowned visiting practitioners who will be on hand to complement the unique menu of signature therapies aimed at relieving aching muscles and joints. Spa memberships will be available to guests wanting a wellness top-up on a more regular basis.
The design concept is based on snow waves and their organic shapes which have been creatively translated into contemporary features throughout the spa. Dressed in a palette of pure white, clean and bright colors, they are complemented by quirky mountain motifs in the form of local artworks and features to celebrate and emphasize the spa’s Alpine setting.
Using biophilic principles, the spa design articulates the relationship between nature, human biology and built environment so the guest may experience benefits such as stress release, enhanced creativity and clarity of thought, and improved well-being.
Guest journeys begin at the open-plan reception and lounge designed in a style of a concept store with beautifully crafted retail spaces featuring a refined and exclusive collection from some of the best niche French brands and designers. Natural soaps, hand-poured candles, Six Senses exclusive yoga line by Ana Heart, a timeless design cashmere collection, wool felt slippers, meditation necklaces and hand-crafted wooden sunglasses are just some of the coveted items on offer. The impressive living green wall infuses this area with life-renewing energy, creating an inviting environment with intrinsic benefits of nature.
From here, guests can access a manicure and pedicure station and enjoy a complete hand and foot pampering and a good conversation over a healthy libation.
The 7,500 square foot (700 square meter) spa also features five treatment rooms (two double and three single), an indoor swimming pool with a relaxation area lit by natural light and an outdoor hot tub for those who have the desire to get closer to their natural surroundings. There is also a vitality area with bio sauna, sauna, Kneipp path, rain shower and a steam room. And once guests complete this rejuvenating circuit, Six Senses juice bar will tempt them with the latest selection of smoothies and juices designed to feed the good gut bacteria (gut buddies) that keep the tummy tuned.
A gym and a studio for wellness classes such as yoga and meditation are open to guests throughout the season.
Guests can choose from a range of restorative therapies focusing on warming tired muscles, rehabilitating fatigued joints and boosting circulation; signature massages to re-energize and relax; and facial and body treatments by The Organic Pharmacy adapted or designed exclusively to keep the skin nourished and hydrated during the winter season. And Kure Bazaar was chosen to provide nail varnishes for manicures and pedicures as it combines the ethics of eco-natural formula with fashionable and vibrant colors; totally on-trend.
