Samui Is Becoming a Wedding Destination

Samui has long been an ideal honeymoon destination, but new intimate-scale resorts such as X2 Samui Villas by Design are also making the island an attractive venue for weddings.

X2 Samui Villas (the X2 is pronounced as “Cross-To”) is part of the Centara Boutique Collection of small but very high-class resort properties, featuring just 27 villas, each with their own private pool or outside garden area.

Set in five acres of land at the secluded beach of Hua Thanon, on the southeast coast of Samui Island, the resort has a 100-metre-long beach frontage with uninterrupted ocean views, its own pool, and a beachfront restaurant serving Thai and international cuisines including BBQs.

A dedicated function room is able to accommodate up to 20 persons for a wedding ceremony and banquet, and there is plenty of space in the gardens or on the beach for a fully catered outdoor reception

X2 Samui Villas has a wedding package valid from now until December 2011 priced at THB 75,000 net, inclusive of tax and service charges. 

The package includes co-ordination of the priest, minister or officiator, floral decoration of the venue with a white orchid or Thai lotus theme, bridal bouquet, corsage for the groom, a long-drum procession, an elaborate wedding cake, a bottle of sparkling wine for toasting, a romantic candlelit Thai set dinner for the bride and groom, and a his-and-hers pre-wedding relaxing Spa Cenvaree massage for one hour.

Optional extras are also available, including photography at THB 8,000 per album, video (THB 12,000), make-up and hairdressing (THB 4,900 per person), and wedding registration (THB 5,000).

Food and beverage packages include a one-hour cocktail reception open bar house brands) at THB 650 per person, hors d’oeuvre selection (THB 350), heavy cocktail food reception (THB 580), buffet lunch (from THB 700), wedding dinners (from THB 700), buffet BBQ dinner (from THB 1,200), and a Thai classical dance show during dinner at THB 8,500.

All prices quoted include tax and service charge.
